I just received a phone call from my grandmother, who we call granny. She wanted to talk to me before I left and wanted me to know that she had no worries about me at all! She goes to church with a woman who just got back from taking her son to Vietnam and heard all about the trip. She said that I will be traveling to a safe part of the country and that I will have the time of my life. I believe that this just increases my excitement!!! I encourage all of you who are worried about me to trust in granny and know that I will be fine.

We dropped Ashley off at 5 AM as the group headed for Pittsburgh. They will be leaving Pittsburgh around 10:15 AM today, heading to Chicago, then Hong Kong, then finally Vietnam. I am not sure when she will post next, but just wanted to update those who will be checking this regularly.

After an early delay, Ashley's group will be leaving Chicago for Hong Kong late this evening. Due to the delay, they will stay over in Hong Kong. A minor change in plans may allow for some additional sightseeing. Stay tuned for more.

I'm so glad we have this to post stuff on....how cool is it that my sister is going to be in a foreign country!!!! I;m so excited for her I could jump out of my skin! Thank you Adam for keeping me posted on everything!!! You're the best!!
Hey Ashley it's 11:23am and Carol and I are in Columbus wondering "Where in the world is Ashley Daniels" so we thought we would check in. How cool are you?!! Hope you get to sightsee some and can't wait to read a post. Off to share a bed with Carol.
UPDATE! Ashley's group landed in Hong Kong around 9:45 PM (9:45 AM our time) and they were trying to get on a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam immediately. I will update as soon as I get more information.
Ash- got a message from Adam saying you are now in Hong Kong...I'm sure you're having lots of fun and I can not wait to hear all about your adventure! Hope the seats on the plane were plush and comfy!! Love you!
UPDATE! Ashley and her classmates landed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam around 2:00 PM our time/1:00 AM tomorrow their time. They were heading through customs and then on to their hotel. She will contact me then. Not sure when she will be able to check this.

UPDATE! Just spoke with Ashley again. She is in her room and trying to rest before they start their next day in about 4 hours. She said she will try to get to a computer soon, but sleep was priority #1.

UPDATE! I spoke with Ashley again today (noon her time, 1 AM our time) and she was having a wonderful time (doing much better since the flight.) They had visited a local market and even safely crossed the street twice. She was going to try to get to the internet cafe today, but I have not seen an email or post from her yet. Stay tuned!
